These Hive Energy Bites are easy to make from ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen pantry. They are are good for that late morning boost to hold you over until lunchtime. Grab a couple for an energy boost before going to the apiary to work hives in the evening.
Ingredients
1 cup Old Fashioned Oats
2/3 cup Shredded Coconut
1/2 Cup Wildflower Honey
1/2 Cup Ground Flaxseed
1/2 Cup Mini Chocolate Chips
1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Cocoa Powder

Instructions
Combine Ingredients: Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir until thoroughly combined
Refrigerate: Cover the mixing bowl and place in the refrigerator untill chilled. (1-2 hours)
Divide into Individual Servings: I prefer to use a small scoop to make individual bite size servings. You can also roll them into small balls. A third option is to place the mixture between two pieces of wax paper and roll it out to approximately 1/4" thick sheet. After chilling, you can cut them into bars approximately 1" wide by 3" long.
Storage and Serving: Enjoy immediately or store in the refrigerator. Pack a few in the cooler each morning to get you through a day at work or a day in the apiary.
